Glenallachie 10 Year Cask Strength Whisky Batch 8 The GlenAllachie Cask Strength Batch 8 is a combination of Pedro Ximénez & Oloroso sherry puncheons along with a small amount of Virgin Oak and Rioja casks and bottled at 57.2%. The result is a uniquely balanced yet complex single malt overflowing with flavours of sweet sultanas and dried red berries. This is all supported by classic GlenAllachie honey notes. The distillery was located in Banffshire, an area in Speyside and particularly rich in distilleries. They chose a site next to the Lour Burn, above Aberlour. Water for the mash is drawn from a spring fed by meltwater from the Ben Rinnes. Cooling water comes from some ponds formed by a dam in the river.
