Glenkinchie Double Matured 2005/2017
The classic Lowland Lady gains some weight! In its more familiar manifestation, Glenkinchie is a subtle, fairly dry, aperitif style whisky. The Distiller’s Edition release has been aged for 10 years in old Bourbon casks, giving the whisky weight and smoothness before being ‘finished’ in Amontillado Sherry casks from the Macharnudo district of Jerez. The resulting malt has absorbed the clean, nutty character of Amontillado Sherry also adding weight and a nutty tang to the finish.
