Golden Carolus Folle Blanche was released as a limited edition release in honour of the 9th anniversary of Distillery De Molenberg. By 'Folle Blanche', the whisky makers refer to a grape variety from which cognac is made. This nickname stems from the fact that the whisky undergoes a 3-year post-ripening in ex-cognac casks after maturing for several years.
The maturation prior to this took place in both ex-bourbon casks and anchor casks, with anchor casks referring to casks made specifically according to the wishes of Distillery De Molenberg. Notes of vanilla, wood, floral hint, honey, leather and fruit are harmoniously balanced.
